Cafe Lota: If you have a bucket list, then include “eating at Cafe Lota” in it. The restaurant is situated in the vicinity of National Craft Museum; Pragati Maidan. The place has a mesmerizing décor and very pleasant ambiance which cannot be described in words. The restaurant is not only known for its lovely ambiance but also for the food offered. The USP of the restaurant is its menu, which includes pan-Indian cuisines with some twist in it.
As my friends and I visited the place for a Sunday brunch, we were so fascinated by the ambiance that we didn’t mind waiting for around half an hour for a table. If you want to avoid long waiting queues then visit the place on weekdays. It’s a bamboo roofed restaurant with very earthy interiors. I would suggest visiting the place in winters and enjoy a sunny winter day with mouthwatering dishes.
The menu includes almost all Indian delicacies with some modern touch in each. We ordered palak patta chaat and khatta Meetha dhokla for starters. The service was very prompt; our order came in few minutes, but one at a time. First came palak patta chaat, fried palak pattas in the chat were crispy and not much oily. The dish tasted really well. Then came our khatta meetha dhokla, dhoklas were very fresh and the flavors were very pronounced. After relishing the starters, we decided to order café lota chicken pasanda. The chicken was soft and perfectly cooked. The dish was flavorsome. After having so much our stomachs were full but we had to satisfy our sweet craving, so we ordered for Aam Ke Golgappe and yogurt cheesecake. The dishes were very creative and tasted excellent.
The entire experience of the place is beyond words. The food served, not only tastes fabulous but is admirable and praiseworthy. Pictures cannot do justice to the food and ambiance of the place, I would suggest you visit the place and live the experience.
